This looks like a college course in political manuevering. It challenges us to think about the current positions we hold. How many other ways did the left beat us at? Also you should include a reading list for those who want to research this more deeply.

This has been like a mini course in how the left won. We have mentioned things like the Overton Window, Hegelian Dialectics, Pavlovian Conditioning, Subliminal Conditioning, the Big Lie Technique, Cognitive Dissonance, the courts legislating from the bench and we gave other specifics as well. But, here is the deal: I used to teach this stuff twice a month to civilian militia personnel. Lo and behold, the FIRST people in the patriot movement to be flipped were those who had been trained to spot the poseurs. Today, the people who were once in the patriot movement have been programmed to react to certain stimuli so that anything they don't want to hear or read; anything they don't want others expose to then becomes fake news. On these discussion boards I've been called a White Supremacist / White Nationalist, racist, open borders liberal, socialist, MAGA Republican and an advocate of terrorism by the same person in a single posting on a discussion board!
The right is really that screwed up. There is a million dollar question once you think about it. EVERY social, political, economic, religious and other related group observes the same phenomena, the same strategies and the same techniques AND they all claim the other side is using this stuff. So who is right and who is wrong? Before I answer that, you should read the book Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky and see how many times the right attempts to use the left's playbook.
The issue of who is using this kind of information to deceive you comes down to which side you are on. The people who lost are the ones on the right. They wrap themselves up in the American flag, proclaim their patriotism and demand change according to whatever snake oil salesman is preaching to them at the moment. But, in order to be a REAL American, you would have to do exactly what Jefferson admonished the American citizenry:
"On every question of construction (of the constitution) let us carry ourselves back to the time when the constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit of the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed."
The Constitution was built on the twin pillars of race and religion. This does not mean that America was founded as a theocracy and if you find anyone willing to argue with that, you've found either an idiot OR a liar. We are guaranteed a Republican Form of Government in the Constitution and we fought Great Britain in order to establish a belief in Rights that are above the reach of government. Racial and cultural integrity coupled with a common belief are the cornerstones upon which the Republic rests. At the end of the day SOMEBODY'S values will reign supreme. One group over another will have the final say. If half the people believe they can force the other half to accept a political stance, there will be a confrontation; there will be a winner. Our forefathers believed that the government that governs best governs least. It is a sentiment not shared by the left or the right. Both sides want a bigger and more intrusive government with each repeating their talking points in favor of the build a bigger government agenda.
Before closing out this post, I want to mention the detractors, the disinformation artists and the people who literally live to troll and foment discord among the Posterity of the framers of the Constitution. They have been welcome here to spew their excrement, but they make false accusations and never show up here so you would be wise to take their writings with a grain of salt - and maybe a large amount of booze if you have an allergy to B.S. There is a reason they won't defend some of the B.S. you read on other sites. It can't be defended in an open forum.

In the course of this thread I have tried to prepare readers for an understanding of Political Guerrilla Warfare. The paradigm of left v. right, Democrat v. Republican, conservative v. liberal is meaningless. When the founders broke with King George, the colonists were the liberals. Those who buy into labels sometimes want to be called classic liberals. Wikipedia defines it as: " Classical liberalism is a political tradition and a branch of liberalism which advocates free market and laissez-faire economics; and civil liberties under the rule of law, with special emphasis on individual autonomy, limited government, economic freedom, political freedom and freedom of speech.[1] Classical liberalism, contrary to liberal branches like social liberalism, looks more negatively on social policies, taxation and the state involvement in the lives of individuals, and it advocates deregulation." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classical_liberalismToday's right wing is a collection of Republicans, social liberals / fiscal conservatives and misguided MAGA Republicans. Most of the aforementioned groups of people do not fit the category of a classic liberal and NEITHER does the current liberals (who call themselves Democrats.) BOTH sides want people to be dependent on the government. BOTH sides reject limited government - the right wants the ultimate POLICE STATE while the left demands the Nanny State. BOTH sides reject economic freedom. The right denies that count, but they are ones running around claiming that the government owns the production and jobs in America. Today, both left and right demand multiculturalism. Right now there is a highly paid disinformation artist that is employed to mislead people. He claims that I promote " communist propaganda." Unfortunately, some on the right buy into his B.S. because he is an atheist and the right is trying to build bridges so the right can accept the LGBTQP lobby and the current crop of " social liberals advocating multiculturalism." This should show the average person out there is being misled. Again, I will only cite one source because the article is well documented at the end, but this is more accurate: "The Communist Party USA, ideologically committed to foster a socialist revolution in the United States, played a significant role in defending the civil rights of African Americans during its most influential years of the 1930s and 1940s." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communist_Party_USA_and_African_Americans" The 1955 Montgomery bus boycott marks the beginning of the unified Civil Rights Movement in the United States, but the Communist Party helped lay the foundations of the movement in the 1930s through their efforts to reach out to the black community and include them in Party activities. As the only left-wing party to espouse ideas of complete racial equality, the Communist Part began in the 1930s to join the fight for racial equality in trade union membership and the right to self-determination for African-Americans." commonplaces.davidson.edu/vol-2/communism-and-the-civil-rights-movement-of-the-1930s/The right wing now embraces the idea of multiculturalism even to the point of reminding the public that the Ku Klux Klan worked hard with Democrats to institute and promote segregation. When Democrats call the Republicans racist, it's just the pot calling the kettle black. No, I do not promote communist propaganda. This is history from mainstream sources and those sources quoting the Communist Party USA's own words. But, back to the issue at hand. Those wanting to destroy the Republic have to rely on all the techniques we've discussed AND they must maintain disinformation campaigns. Censorship, lies being repeated on social media that the victim cannot adequately respond to along with use of false flags are employed to keep the average person in the dark. Those on the left have a built in advantage. The left is dominated by socialists, communists, atheists and humanists that are unashamedly opposed to the Foundational Principles upon which this country was founded. So they can commit acts the right would call abhorrent, but avoid criticism since the left doesn't profess to be a Christian people. Then, when you have mortals that talk the talk, but come up more than short on walking the walk it gives the right a bad rap. That allows disinformation artists, agent provocateurs, etc. to join the right and commit all manner of misdeeds of which the whole right wing will be held accountable for. There is STILL more to the story.

You have covered a lot of ground here. Time to post something that you might get to. It was here or on the defunct Liberty Lobby discussion forum that the Report From Iron Mountain was discussed. The link to a summation of what happened is @ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Report_from_Iron_MountainThe basic story is that the report was a book about the Special Study Group reported on how governments use the war machine to maintain control over the people. Liberty Lobby put out an edition of the book and stated it was a government document in the public domain. Leonard Levin claimed he wrote the book and it was a spoof. Levin sued and Liberty Lobby caved in settled with Levin. Some people carry this conspiracy out and claim that Levin protected the Special Study Group. No matter what the truth is Liberty Lobby folded. That might be like the man who pleads guilty to a crime he did not do because the sentence is less than what a prosecutor will ask for if the case goes to court. Some people think they are taking the easy way out. If Levin wrote the book and let Liberty Lobby overreact it is easy to see how the power players profited. By discrediting conspiracy theorists with fake conspiracies planted by those engaged in real conspiracies they are able to discredit all conspiracy allegations and kill off all inquiry into possible conspiracy. The left salts the mine from time to time. Pizzagate was another example of planted fake conspiracies. If the right ever tried something like that they would be busted.

The art of disinformation is key to defeating the right. What the Professor described is carried out in the form of gaslighting, trolling and projecting. The disinformation agent accuses his / her mark of doing what the disinformation artist is doing. Yet it is the disinformation agent doing what he / she accuses the mark of. Let's define these tools of disinformation and harassment. Gaslighting - According to Psychology Today, the term is described as : "V ictims of gaslighting are deliberately and systematically fed false information that leads them to question what they know to be true, often about themselves. They may end up doubting their memory, their perception, and even their sanity. Over time, a gaslighter’s manipulations can grow more complex and potent, making it increasingly difficult for the victim to see the truth." www.psychologytoday.com/us/basics/gaslightingRight now, I have a federal disinformation agent named Jake following me around and I believe it to be a fed because no matter when I would post (regardless of the hour of the day) this guy was right behind me, posting. No matter what position I take, he takes another AND he hopes to have me question my own sanity by accusing me of promoting communist propaganda. He fails because I'm not a national figure with a big following. So, why would anyone that claims to be an attorney, Air Force officer, podcaster, etc., etc. give two hoots in HELL about what I post? And, if you're like me, why would any rational person follow you around like a dog in heat if they thought you were B.S.ing them when you have no power or influence at all over them? They would be extremely stupid OR they are a major influencer and you would be perceived as a threat to whatever snake oil they are selling. People like that used to intimidate me, but I've learned how to ignore them. The more you ignore people like that, the more their criticisms help you since intelligent people can pick up on someone stalking you. Just because someone has not been exposed to what you have learned doesn't make them right nor gaslight you and accuse you of what they're doing. Trolling - "... according to the Urban Dictionary’s top-rated definition for “trolling,” it can be defined as:
"the deliberate act, (by a Troll – noun or adjective), of making random unsolicited and/or controversial comments on various internet forums with the intent to provoke an emotional knee jerk reaction from unsuspecting readers to engage in a fight or argument." www.lifewire.com/what-is-internet-trolling-3485891We live in an era where grown men act like pre-teen girls and take offense to every disagreement. The most innocent slight sends these people into a panic and they have to get even; they have to put you down; they have to make sure you are humiliated. They can't let it go and they will follow you to the ends of the earth because they aren't smart enough to ASK you what your intent was in posting something. OTOH, the left knows how to feign being offended better than anyone. Their disinformation agents are good at it. When you find yourself up against a troll, you have to look at the obvious. IF that troll always has a cheering section and they are always up in your business, THEY have something to hide. They are working to control the narrative of a forum AND those who bring material that challenges the status quo will be the first ones they have to take out. They won't screw around with those who talk easily debunked opinions with no basis in fact. Projecting - Sometimes it's hard to tell when someone is gaslighting you and when they are projecting. Projecting occurs when someone is doing something and then accusing YOU of doing it. In this example, the fed following me around accuses me of spreading " communist propaganda." In fact, what that dumb ass doesn't realize is that before he was a gleam in his daddy's eyes, I was debating Gus Hall of the Communist Party USA. I was only a young kid, but held my own and refused to allow Hall to deflect. According to Kenneth Goff, Gus Hall supposedly make the following quote: " I dream of the hour when the last congressman is strangled to death on the guts of the last preacher-and since the Christians seem to love to sing about the blood, why not give them a little of it? Slit the throats of their children [and] draw them over the mourners' bench and the pulpit and allow them to drown in their own blood, and then see whether they enjoy singing those hymns."I pressed hard on the question and Gus Hall tried to laugh it off that morning in the early 1980s on WLAW radio in Georgia, but the two things he would not do is to deny that he said it and to denounce the idea. He only said he " didn't recall saying it." The point is, I'm not a communist and I know the political mind screw they use to win new converts. I am relating it here so you know how to identify it and observe how the left won and WHY the right keeps moving the goal posts south, giving more and more power to the government.

We've covered some of the most basic techniques that are used. Now, we pivot toward the strategies that were used against the right and HOW they were employed: Donald J. Trump ran as a Republican for president. Up to that time he was a Democrat. Sure, he spent a few dollars on Republican candidates when he wanted them to be beholden to him. But, his friends were Democrats like Bill and Hillary Clinton. Trump's political positions were anti - gun, pro - LGBTQP and anti - electoral college: www.newsweek.com/trump-tweet-electoral-college-disaster-1545716Right up front, Trump is saying he is pro - democracy and anti- electoral college. He is the most definitive Democrat. The allegations of a rigged election (and much of it is not true - at least the way Trump alleges), but implementing Hegelian Dialectics, Trump is able to con the right into erasing one of the last vestiges of our Republic. His cult following follows along blindly, even being offended when you point out the historical truth about what Trump represents. At the end of the day, Trump has the right doing what the left could never accomplish. " 15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves." Matthew 23: 15 Once the left has converted someone from the right, they will work twice as hard on behalf of the modern day scribes and Pharisees than those people work on their own behalf. If you want to know why the heathen rage, there is your explanation. Another example of how the left wins is to take the issue of gun control. The left employs a simple application of Hegelian Dialectics to the issue and the right walks right into the trap. Thesis - Democrats want gun control Anti-Thesis - Create conditions whereby mass shootings will increase and allow the media to practice that old If it Bleeds it Leads agenda Synthesis - Offer up background checks, registrations, gun bans, increasing the number of second class citizens whose Rights have somehow been revoked on the most spurious grounds Unless you're dumber than a box of rocks you already know how this game works. But, the gun lobby (by and large) is too damn stupid to offer counter legislation, proving that when it comes to political guerrilla warfare, they are clueless. When the right is handed an opportunity to address mental illnesses and children being transformed into drug addicts by our own system (parents, school officials, Big Pharma, mental health officials, politicians and public policy) the right sits on their hands and does nothing. The right points out that mass shootings aren't as common as you are led to believe; that the definition is subject to reinterpretation in order to bolster the left's claims. Worse, and this is THE worse part, the left rejects any proposed legislation that would reduce the numbers of mass shootings without the bill being about gun control. That is one thing that the right does get about the whole argument. But, when it comes to employing counter actions to gun control, the right is deaf, dumb, blind and STUPID. The right says that this bill or another that would address the issue has NO chance of passage. And, on the surface, they have a point... EXCEPT - with a counter proposal to gun control on the table, it forces the left to debate and discuss the issue. That results in gridlock and slows the number of times the left puts anti - gun bills into the hopper. It also opens the door to the possibility of sneaking in right wing legislation attached to budget bills or other bills the left can't vote against. But, the people on the right can't see that far down the street. I've tried to reason with them for decades on this point. The right isn't even at the level of rank amateur on the issue of political guerrilla warfare.

The door has been opened to talk about political guerrilla warfare. That must be my cue to relive the past when the militia was teaching about tactics. Too many people are using code words like false flags when they really mean that their clique disagrees with some political statement. Low information groupies rely on talking heads and fall victim to paranoia and misinformation to the point that most cannot discern between group think and propaganda and fear mongering from actual information that they might benefit from. Do not even think about getting me started. Best suggestion without some kind of back and forth discussion is that the lurkers read Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky if they want to see how the left strategizes. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rules_for_Radicals

CONSPIRACIES AND STRATEGIES -
This post was inspired by an ongoing "debate" of sorts with poster weaponoffreedom. His objections to what used to be the patriot movement gave rise to an issue and that opened the door to explaining an area where the right let the left win.
There are two views of history: Accident Theory and Conspiracy View. In and of itself conspiracy is not a theory because there is so much documentation to prove that, from the outset, America has remained under attack by groups wanting control of this country. There are theories within the viewpoints that need validation and there are conspiracy theories that have to be validated... and then there are conspiracies concocted by the conspirators. In the Accident Theory, shit happens. You have to wear a tin foil hat IF you believe it is any different. No matter how much factual evidence; no matter how many coincidences; no matter how many predictions that prove true come to pass, most people brush it off and think if you mention a possible conspiracy, you are a nutjob.
The real deal is, from a strategic standpoint, those involved in a conspiracy will start one OR actively participate in one that is aimed against the conspirators. Okay, so why would anyone participate in a conspiracy to label themselves as a threat or a danger? Once they push it and then control the opposite end of the argument, they can expose a theory as being a hoax. Once it's proven to be a hoax, that theory and anything like it or revolving around it is effectively neutralized.
In the instant case those participating in the overthrow of America are entrenched in every facet of our lives. No country, no group and no government has been immune to having infiltrators within its sphere. OTOH, the evil doers are not omnipotent. Sometimes the conspirators can be honest with you and even tell you why things don't change. Listen to these words from the Declaration of Independence:
"... and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed."
If the average man has three hots and a cot, a cold beer and somewhere to entertain his penis; his computer games, ball games, rassling and a cell phone, the rest of the world can go to Hell. Many of those who profess to care about their country will invest less that two percent of their time engaged in studying, debating or otherwise participating in their civic duties. I am forced to debate many of them almost daily. Funny thing: They know all about everything, but not before I post about it. Let me throw out a concept or an idea and THEN my critics know about it. Those people get accustomed to the status quo and the instant answers. They are intellectually lazy so they do their best to insult those they disagree with instead of asking questions.
That kind of atmosphere opens the doors for conspirators. It wasn't always like that.
Good strategists know the playbook of those who would overthrow them. And they work around it. People within Freemasonry have fed the right a lot of misconceptions about the strength of their organization. At the same time they are feeding the right a lot of cow dung, they are denying the very lies that they secretly feed the right. So, what happens? The public ultimately figures out that lie being peddled has no validity so the entire conspiracy view is essentially refuted. And it was the Freemasons that created the lie in the first place! That is the application of a Hegelian Dialectic.
Trying to find people who are exposed to the strategies and little known truths is harder that stuffing hot butter up a wild cat's butt with a red hot poker. And I've taught them to students that looked like they were paying attention - and then, buying into idiotic swill that got them involved in the conspiracy they should have fully understood. You can't fix stupid and a man that doesn't use his brain may as well been born with two assholes. But, that is just one way that the right lost to the left.

Being IN the fight, I always have practical experience from which to rely on. ONE of the many ways the left wages wars against the right happened to me today. A poster here, weaponoffreedom, starts threads and then when he cannot prevail in the discussion, he high tails it out and tries the topic matter on another board. Okay, so you're thinking he's just a poster. And I humored him by taking his last issue to task. Then came the attack - on another board.
Old threads from this site were posted on another board to try and prove a point - I'm not exactly sure what it is / was. Anyway, who keeps a record of old posts here and records them somewhere? For what reason? Now, you're going to hear the rest of the story.
What you do on the Internet is being recorded, catalogued and retained for future use. You may think it's all anonymous and eventually all this stuff gets buried or goes into cyberspace. It doesn't. The Internet is the place you get people to openly self incriminate themselves at. Here, the admin is the only person who knows who the posters are. He won't give up names without a warrant. But, if you post illegal stuff or such like, the system will eventually catch up to you. The big difference is, the left keeps a permanent record. So, whatever game they play to get you to say anything - anything at all will be used against you the first chance the OPFOR gets.
Under normal circumstances, I would be paranoid. But, I've been doing things the same way for decades and it's been a combination of luck, skill, knowledge, intel and faith that has kept me from becoming a statistic. On most platforms like tik tok, Facebook, Instagram, X, Twitter or whatever names they are using now are the worst. They know who you are the moment you log on. And your privacy goes to Hell at that point. Just because you've posted on boards for years is irrelevant. When they want you, they will come for you and use your words against you. That is the way the left operates. It's a strategy the right doesn't use.

I continue to look for practical applications to how the left won by using the tools described in this thread. Now, we must go to the more advanced ways the left screws us.
A man was arguing on a discussion board that Trump was for the people and he had nominated pro-gun Justices on the United States Supreme Court. Bulllllcraaaapppp. If you need some civics training, this is apparently the thread for you.
The unofficial vetting organization for the United States Supreme Court is the American Bar Association (ABA.) Nobody sees the light of the day in federal court judgeships until they pass muster with the ABA. There is currently a game being played with gun owners - especially in the United States Supreme Court. One issue specifically allows me the opportunity to expose it. The courts upheld the ban on firearm braces, then they ruled the ban unconstitutional. The BATFE returns and is asking for an injunction to allow the ban to remain in force until the United States Supreme Court says yes or no. If the high Court is all that pro-gun, they would deny that motion AND just put their foot down. We don't need 500 pages for them to just come out and say it. Here is what is really going on:
The courts are giving the gun owners just enough rope to hang themselves. On the surface there are some pro - gun decisions being handed down; however gun owners will continue on - never addressing reducing gun violence without gun control. They are too ignorant and too apathetic. They are doing little more than digging their own political graves. The high Court already ruled in Heller that the Right is not absolute. That nullified close to a century and a half of legal precedents (including United States Supreme Court holdings) to the contrary. The rulings being handed now right now are, at best, temporary. When gun control comes, it will hit gun owners like a sledge hammer.
The trick here is to remember what Thomas Jefferson wrote on the topic:
"The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground."
IF the high Court dismissed all the BATFE motions and moved past gun control, you could rest easy. But, when they don't and it's being dragged out, they are about to put the hammer down on gun owners. Know your enemy and anticipate their moves.

I continue to add to this as I run across new information and also remember things from the past that I don't always recall until something reminds me of it. Anyway... There was a story in the news about a woke company buying stock in the firearms business just to bankrupt it. I should have saved the link when I read the story, but I thought it would be easy to find. I will post it if / when I come across it. But, just assume it's true. How many left wing businesses could the right do the same thing to? Yet they don't. Also, while researching a Socialist Security issue, I found something that was classic misinformation that only the left could think up. As the 2021 story goes: " As online scams continue to thrive amid the pandemic, an old hoax about Social Security cards containing account and routing numbers recently resurfaced on social media.
A May 20 Instagram post with more than 2,000 likes claims a Social Security card is really a credit card linked to your Treasury account, which "permits you a Federal 'Exemption'" to discharge bills through credits issued on behalf of the government." www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2021/05/27/fact-check-social-security-numbers-not-linked-federal-bank-account/5219832001/By creating such elaborate hoaxes, those who worship the religion of conspiracies discredit those who follow legitimate conspiracies. Those who believe in conspiracies as part of their religin will defend this myth to their dying breath. It makes it difficult to discuss legitimate conspiracies that seek to destroy our Republic.

Resister when you stated " IF we really wanted to secure the border, we'd begin by letting private property owners along the border protect their property line from trespassers. I will have a bit more in a follow up to this later on." makes perfect since and needs to be discussed by other more often. The right to protect private property is important. This is often not discussed or dismissed and omitted. The Wall should have been taken care of many years ago and should have never been a issue. With the elections and voting this shouldnt have never been a issue as it is, but it is a huge issue and probably going to be a new issue next year in 2024.

It was time to come by and add some to this thread as these threads never die. They become places for long term discussions. What we need to address in this post is accusations and counter accusations about critical thinking skills. So, what are critical thinking skills? Critical thinking is the ability to interpret, evaluate, and analyze facts and information that are available, to form a judgment or decide if something is right or wrong.
Most of the time when you find political hacks and those of the herd mentality (group think), they are not critical thinkers. They will read enough to accuse others of not having critical thinking skills; however, they stay on areas of social media and discussion boards that have only one point of view and if you question it, you become a heretic. For example, a redneck accused me of not having critical thinking skills this week and he did so AFTER posting numerous posts accusing me of being a homosexual that was promoting Joe Biden and I had no critical thinking skills. Where were HIS critical thinking skills when I offered up videos and quotes from books that the individual I was exposing actually said? Let me explain something to you for reference:
If you have two candidates for public office and they are equally evil then the lesser of two evils is still evil. But, on one hand let us suppose that you believe your candidate is only lying to get elected and, once in office, will make the other side walk the straight and narrow. It's good that you believe that; however, if your candidate was in public office once before what did they do? What did they do and say when YOUR back was turned? And, if their actions were deemed to be unconstitutional, wouldn't you want an accounting... ESPECIALLY if it cost the people that supported that candidate millions of dollars? If the people you support said something you would NEVER have voted for them had they said it in a campaign speech, wouldn't you want to know if they did it after getting elected, but denying it in an election campaign speech?
Using critical thinking skills (in this context) means that you evaluate what people say BEFORE they are elected to office and then what they DID after they were elected along with an accounting as to WHYthey did it if it was contrary to the platform they campaigned on. When you have that kind of scenario, it does NOT mean that if you vote for the lesser of two evils you are voting for the other evil guy. What it means is that you may have to support a dark horse candidate (an independent or third party.) Oh, but then you wasted your vote. Right? I thought we were talking about critical thinking skills.
In my lifetime, I recall a man named George Wallace who almost won the race for U.S. President. So, what was the strategy? Wallace realized that he couldn't win the election so he settled for trying to keep either of the major party candidates from getting elected via the Electoral College. That would throw the election into the House of Representatives where Wallace could greatly influence the issues. Wallace could have even forced one of the major party candidates to negotiate with him in exchange for Wallace's electors. Some historians theorize that Wallace paved the way for the rise of Trump. But, what we have here is a lesson in critical thinking. I'm not jumping onto the bandwagon of bad ideas or corrupt candidates and allowing that to help the greater of the two evils narrative; I'm developing the backdrop whereby the major parties have to give due consideration to political demographics they control via the lesser of two evils narrative. That is both critical thinking AND sound political strategies.
So, the next time I disagree with you on something, don't jump to the conclusion that I'm working for the other guy. Get the whole story, ask questions, evaluate the facts and interpret the reasons that I (or anyone for that matter) is challenging you. Analyze the facts. Politicians tell you what they want to hear and then do the opposite when they get in office. Democrats don't normally lie to each other, but will manipulate the Republicans to push their own agenda. Republicans lie to their own constituency and, as best as I can tell, they don't have a concrete agenda. You vote for them because they are the perceived lesser of two evils. If you're going to accuse someone of lacking critical thinking skills, better check your own. And if you are threatening people, calling them names and making idiotic accusations against them then your insecurity is telling you that YOU are the one lacking in critical thinking skills. You don't have to be the sharpest knife in the drawer to ask questions and follow through with a number of what if scenarios. Your intelligence will be measured by your ability to work through the what ifs not only from YOUR perspective, but the other guy's as well.

This is just a view from the fng. Pardon me. Could you expound on some strategies you say the left uses? If it helps the issue of gun control is of particular interest.

This is just a view from the fng. Pardon me. Could you expound on some strategies you say the left uses? If it helps the issue of gun control is of particular interest. There was a strategy that, when younger, I thought was used exclusively by the left. I was wrong. The left is generally more successful with it. In the instant case, a " former" Democrat ran for office. He said he was against gun control. His prior record of public comments told a different story. But, the people thought the guy saw the light, turned over a new leaf and was ready to go to bat for them. He didn't. Instead, he supported anti-gun measures; chided legislators and told them they were " afraid of the NRA." Then he signed an Executive Order banning bump stocks. Ah, you say, bump stocks are just a gimmick, a novelty... just an accessory that is unnecessary. So, what was the left wing strategy and why the fuss? When this gentleman put the NRA on the spot and challenged them, for the first time he was showing the NRA was a toothless tiger. The right still supposed there was some mysterious end game, but couldn't even fathom what it might be - even in forums like this one. Then he banned bump stocks. Now, a president could have pushed wholesale gun control on the people, but yes, nobody wanted to challenge the political might of the NRA when it came to enacting unconstitutional measures. Well, the next guy elected to that job, realizing that a pro-gun leader proved you could implement gun control goes apesh!+ with Executive Orders. They went after flash suppressors, folding stocks, forced reset triggers, binary triggers, 80 percent receivers, solvent traps and I lose count of how much more have been covered by the BATFE. So, the end game for the former Democrat was to institute gun control. Now, the NRA has been taken down a few notches and castrated. More Executive Orders aimed against gun owners have been passed in one term than in the last six election cycles combined! IF the Republican had not shown how weak the NRA was, nobody was likely to force that much gun control down our throats and all at once. The basic strategy for a change agent is to pretend they are on one side or another of a political issue. Then they DO things. Offer up legislation that doesn't stand a snowball's chance in Hades of passing; sign Executive Orders they know, for a fact, will not withstand a constitutional challenge and or be rescinded in the election cycle where they are defeated. When their agenda fails, blame Congress or the courts. Keep promising to fight like Hell. If they keep up the charade and their signature legislation fails, the change agent still comes out looking like a rose. This could become a very detailed study, but you get the gist.
