This thread is a follow up to the thread that I started entitled Freedom of Religion?:
resisters.freeforums.net/thread/144/freedom-religion
The argument made by leftists is that there are a lot of churches that are not being discriminated against; therefore, IF some churches are being discriminated against, they must be doing things or believing in things that are offensive to the overwhelming majority of Americans. Who am I kidding? These things may very well be offensive to even those who believe in them. It wasn't until the media seized upon the name "Christian Nationalist" that I realized what it was the left was against. You take someone like Donald Trump. He only laid claim to being a nationalist. Let me warn you before you dismiss this thread. All is not as it seems.
Back in the 1970s and 1980s there was an argument in Christian circles over whether a person was a Patriot Christian or Christian Patriot. Back then I dismissed it all as an argument over semantics. Man was I wrong! I hope that you will consider this carefully.
People go through life claiming to be Christians, right wing, patriot, conservative libertarian, and a host of other labels that don't tie them to the left. When it comes to politicians, they can claim to be anything because we don't expect them to identify SPECIFICALLY what they believe. So, they can self identify as being a Christian when asked a question and later they may say I'm a nationalist. We might then assume that the person who identifies under both labels, though not together - at the same time is a Christian Nationalist (also note the capitalization of Nationalist in this context.) Christian nationalism requires that a person believe in certain things in a certain order. As an analogy, a Christian Patriot was a Christian first and patriot second. A Patriot Christian was any patriot that just also happened to be a Christian. Whatever is primary in your life will determine how you identify - the most important thing first. Christian Nationalist.
Okay, that is my opening salvo. Later I want to post what a Christian Nationalist believes in. You might be a Christian Nationalist. I didn't even know I was one until the media coined the term and started making out their laundry list.
