In 1994 a questionnaire was administered at a military base at 29 Palms in California: 1776now.org/29-palms-combat-arms-survey-would-you-fire-on-us-citizens/The questionnaire became controversial as it posed a disturbing question: "46. The U.S. government declares a ban on the possession, sale, transportation, and transfer of all non-approved firearms. A 30-day amnesty period is established for these firearms to be turned over to the local authorities. At the end of this period, a number of irregular citizen groups and defiant individuals refuse to turn over their firearms to authority. Consider the following statement: [SD D A SA NO]
“I would fire upon U.S. citizens who refuse or resist confiscation of firearms banned by the United States government.”If we return to 1994 we had all kinds of roadblocks with the feds and local governments doing what was then called Multi-Jurisdictional Task Forces. The federal government was increasing their power (albeit unconstitutional) over every facet of our lives. They began using federal regulatory agencies to impose and enforce unconstitutional laws. Even after a quarter of a century we are debating whether we should have a nationalized police force: thenewamerican.com/nationalizing-the-police-is-not-the-answer/Unfortunately for all of us, this idea isn't dying and all sides of the political aisle are excited to think about how a tyrannical government might be able to address their personal agenda. The government has been trying to get us to agree to the takeover; now we know what may come when it comes to enforcement.

Since the 1990s and before that the government has been trying to see how hard they could push the people before they reacted. We were okay with a Muslim in the White House. The people accepted the Brady Bill, Lautenberg Amendment, the reclassification of pistols as short barreled receivers, bans on certain triggers, and bans on bump stocks not to mention our acceptance of red flag gun laws. We did not protest the addition of 87,000 new IRS agents and the fact that they will be armed. The USDA made a request for and received .40 caliber machine guns equipped with tritium sights that are used for night shooting. In total about 73 federal regulatory agencies now are equipped with firearms. Having done a number of posts mostly to try and keep a running score card of this backdoor attempt to ramp up for an internal takeover this thread strikes close to home.
Much ado was made regarding the Jan. 6 rally that got out of hand and dozens of people have been convicted of crimes. Compare that to the numbers of people killed and property destroyed by Black Lives Matter and you have a good indication that the right is willing to accept any kind of assault on our rights without any fear of right wing resistance. What little there is involves really backward thinking that has people trying small illegal acts that send right wing protesters to prison a few at a time. What can we do?
