This is a four minute tutorial for navigating this board.
I have heard from two ladies that were invited to this board over the last month. They said this board is too hard to navigate. Well, I’m a Luddite and it isn’t hard for me. But, maybe they just don’t know how this board is set up and they are intimidated by it. I’m not trying to talk down to anyone, but people that don’t know this format may need to be walked through it. That is what we’re going to do here. Let’s start:
1 At the top of the page you will see an area that is dark (my screen shows it in black.) At the top left is the word “Resisters” and in the top center the wording “We the People Can do MUCH better!” appears. Think of that like a billboard, a marquee or maybe the cover of a book
2) Within that dark area you will also see some other things like:
Home
Help
Search (and a blank area for you to type your search into)
Members
Profile
Bookmarks
Messages
We’re going to skip that for now and do a second part for that
3) If you look to the right of the board you will see:
Welcome
Log In
Log out
You can visit anywhere on the board, but if you want to post you will have to create a sign in and then click on that icon on the board. You also have to sign in to communicate with other board members, moderators, administrators, and check your personal messages on the board
4) Next, if you scroll through the board you will see that is separated by sections in dark. Those sections (called Boards) – at least the owners of the software call them boards divide the topics much like the old newspapers used to have sections like national news, local news, sports, comics, want ads, etc. Those sections marked in dark are:
About the Board
News and Views
American Strategic Think Tank
On a Personal Note
Patriot Preparedness
There are a couple of other boards, but since you won’t be posting there we will skip them. If you read them they are self explanatory as to what they do. For example, one section will tell you how many people visited this board over the last 24 hours
5) Under each of those sections are Forums. Let’s look at the first:
About the Board
Under that are three subsections we call Forums. In this example there are three Forums:
All About the Resisters Discussion Forum
Introduce Yourself
Suggestions and Questions about the Board
The Forums are pretty much self explanatory. So, you know what that section contains. So, you put your cursor over what you are interested in on any given forum and click. Up will come a lot of topics. These are called threads. Every time someone starts a conversation they get to give it a title and then they post their thoughts.
You are reading what they said about whatever the title is about. You can add your own thoughts; you might want to quote the author of the title OR you may want to address another poster. So, once you’re logged in and reading that topic, you can look at the bottom of the post and see reply and you can see quote. Click on the reply feature and add your own thoughts OR use the quote feature of any reply where you want to comment on what another poster wrote
6) As you read the threads there may be links to videos, news articles, Youtube videos, etc. Move your cursor over the link and you can access it. Once you’ve accessed the link, you will see the a browser icon, then the Resisters link with an X beside it and the link that you addressed will have an X next to it. When you are finished with the link click the X farthest to your right and you are back to the Resisters board where you left off.
7) Each topic / thread begins with the original post. It remains at the top of that thread. Everybody that responds has their response under it That is all there is to it
This format makes much more sense than social media where one guy wants to talk about politics, the other wants to know what kind of snake is in the pic he or she posted; another person wants to talk about fur babies, etc. This site lets you find the conversations you are interested in and, instead of wasting all your time on subject matter you don't care about, you spend the time on topic / threads that you are interested in.
