Here is an article wherein the author explores some reasons people are leaving the churches of America:

My view is a bit different (though I accept the author's basic premise.)
I was first ordained in the World Church League in 1982. The World Church League would go on to become affiliated the the Church of Latter Day Saints. Personally, I couldn't support some of the doctrines of that denomination. They could be 100 percent right, but you follow the Holy Spirit when it speaks to you. I wished my friends Godspeed and went about my business. In those days my life was plagued with marital problems so it was not fitting that I should remain in the ministry at that time. I would serve as a Chaplain for non-profit groups and write religious articles for a few more years until co - founding the Militia of Georgia.
Since those days a lot of people have left the church for a host of reasons. Church does demand a measure of a person's time and most people have become more worldly. There is a lot of pressure by the liberal media and what they call thewoke crowd to steer America away from the traditional values that made us the greatest nation in the world. What we fail to see is that it is a double edged sword. The left does not proclaim to be Christians (for the most part.) They are happy to join the deluded masses that believe In the NEW WORLD ORDER / One Race / One Religion/ One World Government. They revere a government god and appeal to a new form of churchianity that believes in any combination of cockamamie theories. One of those theories holds that Jesus nailed the law to the cross; therefore, there is no law. The problem with that is that the Bible defines sin as the "transgression of the law" (I John 3: 4.) Well if there is no law then there is nothing to transgress and, consequently, no law to govern you outside of man's law. And so, the Bible beaters say "we're saved by grace" and if you get saved and / or baptized, God's going to forgive you for what you do and you are guaranteed a ticket into Heaven. What a crock!
In the world of politics right now we have one presidential front runner who wouldn't acknowledge a grandchild born out of wedlock. That guy claims to be a Catholic. On the other side of the aisle is a womanizer that has been married more than once and we don't know the full reasons thereof. Let's get real for a change. Politics is religion in action. If we are immoral and sinful, we will vote for whoremongers, liars, thieves, and narcissists on a power trip. It's a reflection of who we are, as a people. We might excuse it with the aforementioned nonsense parading around as logic, but in our hearts we know the truth. We just don't like to face it. We may congregate around one worlders that play into the narrative of diversity while, in fact, it is the most exclusive club on planet earth. It's lying to ourselves. And maybe, just maybe, part of the major problem is the pastors of America who are going along to get along and not renouncing sin. I've been back in the church for a couple of years now, so there is no excuse for you not to examine the tenets of faith as espoused by The Anglo Israelite Christian Church www.angloisraelites.com/ Don't you think it's time to start pursuing the truth and to get some perspective on your own life?
