All of the political and social turmoil has me thinking. What are American values? For me it is getting confusing by the day. Once upon a time in America a foreigner could imagine what a stereo-typical American looked like. They also had a concept of a Scotsman or African in their mind. While you may still equate a kilt with a Scot it is harder to imagine what an American is unless it might be someone who is mixed race, confused about their gender, wearing clothes of the opposite sex and professing no religious convictions. Hard to imagine that individual except for the purple or pink hair and scores of tattoos and piercings.
Putting that aside it is hard to imagine what American values are. There was a time because I was living and know when people identified with where they were from, their religious denomination, marital status, and family name. Today it is more about their sexual identity and political affiliation. Most are confused about both. Do any of you remember when there were seven words you couldn't say on tv? Today you can say anything. Have you ever watched the series Yellowstone on tv? Every fifth word is an F bomb. Also most tv shows are pushing a very liberal agenda as Yellowstone does. There is no need to single them out. The game show Jeopardy makes sure that every transsexual, nonbinary, pansexual or other sexually confused individual gets to win at Jeopardy and win big. You know they have to rig the show for any one person to have that much over all knowledge about every topic in the world. Almost every show you can name is political propaganda disguised as entertainment.
When coming here it seemed simple enough. American values should be God, family, kindred, community, nation, fellow man. Atheists cross God off that list. Most sexual deviants have no close blood relatives so they cross family off the list. As we all know kindred cannot exist for anyone that is considered white. Community doesn't exist when people are so divided on every level be it political, religious, racial, economic, sexual preferences, and which side of mainstream they identity with the most. Since half of the population is comfortable with socialism and those who believe in the Constitution are a dwindling minority we are not united as a nation since we all disagree with what it should be.
What are American values? Do they exist any more? What is your take?

People have been told that the United States is a democracy for so long that most people believe it. The rightful government is not a democracy. The big difference as it has been explained to me is that we have rights that cannot be abrogated by the government. In the democracy all you need is a popular vote.
Where we had a right to life we have abortion. We had a right to keep and bear arms. We now have a very limited privilege to have firearms and a legislature with a president that are opposed to your 2A rights. Most people are rallying around the attacks on the right to due process and that gets rid of the 4A. The balance of the Constitution is under attack as well. It would take me a lot of paragraphs to summarize the assaults. Needless to say all of it is a reflection of who we are as a people.
That says a lot about our values as a country. The liberals are claiming that the few American people left who talk about American exceptionalism are delusional. In my view they are crazier than an outhouse rat. It has been discussed on this board how the United States built the biggest military in recorded history and they had greater advancements in all walks of life that surpassed all other civilizations doing so in record time. If anybody is delusional it is the left.
As you pointed out a great number of people are confused by what gender they are. Pansexual, transexual, homosexual, non-binary whatever that is they are not satisfied with the way God made them. Lying to themselves about who they are makes them have the ability to lie about our history without any hesitation. The pols who encourage this attitude with hate law legislation that forces us to play along with their sick fantasies end up challenging every single facet of our values. There is a video on Youtube and a black woman is ridiculing the mainstream that says eating three meals a day is racist as is working out. The theme is that anything a liberal does not like is racist.
Those of us posting here long for the America where a mans word was his bond. Hard work was respected and most people had pride in what they did on their job. Made in the U.S.A. meant something. In business the customer was always right. It is not that way any longer. You know it and so do I. On any given day you will see people arguing with store clerks and managers over products and services. Rarely does a business step up and accept responsibility. Angry folk will kill you in a road rage incident. Kids kill people for a pair of designer shoes. Cops hope for confrontation the escalation of an event to justify using their weapons or maybe beating a suspect to a pulp. That is who we were. Today that is viewed as some kind of disease or maybe a weakness. We are the polar opposite of what we once were. Greed replaced benevolence and our national character went from humble and friendly to angry and soulless. Lying is expected and dishonest is such a given that it supposedly justifies the surveillance and documentation expected for even the most mundane transaction. Who we were is not what we are. The country is imploding because America is no longer good. In short we do not really have any national values left unless they are anger, distrust, intolerance, dishonesty, plain old evil.

I've tried to refrain from posting on this thread because I could whine for an hour about the way things used to be. The real issue in my mind is whether or not the changes in my lifetime have been for the better. This is what I come up with for a short list:
It Used to Be:
The customer was always right and if the customer wasn't satisfied, the company did what it could to make the customer happy We identified by who our families were, where we called home, and what job / school / church we were affiliated with Moral absolutes were considered even if people didn't follow them to the letter Sexual deviation was wrong Communism was evil People got an entry level job in the private sector and worked their way up Patriotism was taught in school There were fewer laws and people didn't go complaining about every little slight or offense
The Way it is Today:
If you don't like the products or services you receive from someone or some company, just accept it. They might even sue you if you complain about them online Today people are identified by their sexual orientation, commitment to non-Christian beliefs and the color of their skin IF that are other than White We have no moral absolutes, just majority rule Sexual deviation is not only celebrated, but if you are a heterosexual then you must be a right wing, Nazi, hatemonger, MAGA bigot, son of a bitch that should be tortured and killed Nearly half of American voters today would support a socialist or communist for public office; many of the other half would provided that candidate promised to address a pet issue of the non-communist The only patriotism that virtually ALL Americans support is the concept of a ONE WORLD / ONE RACE / ONE RELIGION utopia Today if someone is offended by the way you sneeze, that offense will become a crime in a world with more laws than they can effectively enforce
I guarantee I missed a great number of things, but by NO metric are we better off today than we were just a couple of generations ago. The people of today are less affluent than their parents and grandparents. Males have less testosterone on average so they lack a sex drive. Many become prissy sissies and society thinks those people have a monopoly on human virtue as we abhor any masculine male that identifies as heterosexual. America is divided almost in half though it's not clear what they are fighting over - exactly. Miscegenation, immigration, same sex relationships and the demonization of White people has changed the culture of our nation and we are going the say of Sodom and Gomorrah. The left tells us we are a nation that worships diversity and inclusiveness, but they do all they can to shut out anyone that wants to promote the Constitution of the United States as originally written and intended. Crime is up. Liberty is disappearing. Privacy is a thing of the past and the government controls us from the womb to the tomb... and mostly because the American people are too damn stupid to realize that the Socialist Surveillance Number ... I mean "Social Security Number" is no different than the branding of cattle. I wish we could really get some feedback from those who think we're in a better position than we were say fifty years ago. It would be an interesting discussion.

We are definitely not better off today than just 50 years ago. That is no joke. It is really depressing that nobody wants to do anything except complain either. We could repeal unlawful amendments to the Constitution. We could reduce gun deaths without gun control. We could shut the left down by using their own laws against them. Yet the poseurs in charge are leading the right down dark roads and rabbit holes.
There is no objection to the truth and the left does not come here and dispute what has been posted. The right is content to complain. It may be that there will be on change until those who are the victims of genocide realize they are being picked off one by one. Thoughts anyone?
