Since 2020 I have tried to keep up with how much of America China has taken over. In 2020 the Chinese had the majority interest in over 2400 major corporations. For example: " China produces 97 percent of U.S. antibiotics and about 80 percent of active pharmaceutical ingredients used in American drugs, giving the Chinese Communist Party absolute control of potentially life-saving medicine. For example, Chinese pharmaceutical companies supply 70 percent of the world's acetaminophen, commonly used in Tylenol. ...The Chinese government's theft of intellectual property has been an open secret for decades. More recently, U.S. authorities have discovered China is funding American university researchers, who don't always disclose those contributions. ...Chinese firms have bought AMC Entertainment, Legendary Entertainment, and other media companies. Control of 8,000-plus of American theater screens and other media platforms allows China to project "soft power" and block unflattering depictions of the Chinese government from being presented, both in terms of creative production and mass distribution." www.foxnews.com/world/how-much-of-the-united-states-does-china-really-ownEven the Golden Boy, Donald Trump sold out to the Chinese: www.businessinsider.com/trump-allies-biden-selling-oil-china-but-did-same-2017-2022-7More recent acquisitions include Smithfield Foods which is the United States biggest producer of pork products. They bought the controlling interest in General Electric: www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/25-famous-us-and-western-brands-china-now-owns/ss-AA15ThsR#image=26The Chinese now own General Motors, Motorola, Spotify, Snapchat, Microsoft, Starplex Cinemas, Uber, Fisker Automotive and 21st Century Fox to name just a FEW: prepareforchange.net/2021/10/15/list-of-us-companies-secretly-owned-by-china-tesla-microsoft-gm-uber/You should shop local, buy American and boycott Chinese owned businesses.

My newest shadow likes to criticize me from afar, but came to the conclusion that this is a right wing site promoting lies and conspiracy theories. He latched onto a recent development in the case of AMC, so let's revise the facts: Since those stories were published " AMC is a publicly-traded company, it's owned by the stockholders now." Source: marketrealist.com/p/who-owns-amc-theatres-now/marketrealist.com/p/who-owns-amc-theatres-now/So, in essence, China bailed once AMC was no longer profitable. I will stand by to see if the troll fact checks any more companies that China has acquired. In the meantime, I was reminded of Lucent Technologies, one of my former employers. China seems to be doing quite good after the fall of Lucent: americanaffairsjournal.org/2020/08/who-lost-lucent-the-decline-of-americas-telecom-equipment-industry/According to another source, this is a couple of years old, but here is some additional info: " As of October 2021, the Asian nation owns $1.065 trillion, or about 3.68%, of the $28.9 trillion U.S. national debt, which is more than any other foreign country except Japan. ..The Walt Disney Company owns 43 percent of the resort; the majority 57 percent is held by Shanghai Shendi Group, a joint venture of three companies owned by the Shanghai government." investguiding-com.ngontinh24.com/articles/how-much-of-america-does-china-ownBear in mind that Japan is an ally; China is an adversary.

Bill is the consummate troll that is afraid to come here and debate the topic. It would have made for a great exchange. It is what this board was intended to do. You know, I listen to both the right and the left, but many times after I review all the available information, my own views change based on facts. I don't know that Bill has provided any. Still, I am going to produce his post since he is too much of a coward to post his stuff here (preferring to post it as an off topic attack on another board): Bill wrote: the blog you keep referring to consists of 4 users sharing misinformation. For example, on the blog it stated, The Chinese now own AMC, General Motors, Motorola, Spotify, Snapchat, Microsoft, Starplex Cinemas, Uber, Fisker Automotive and 21st Century Fox. A basic search easily shows how this is misinformation. AMC: Dalian Wanda Group has sold off most of its holdings in movie theater chain AMC Entertainment, marking a dramatic retreat from Chinese billionaire Wang Jianlin’s bold Hollywood ambitions. So it’s not owned by China.
Wanda sold nearly $426.9 million worth in shares of AMC over the last week, reducing its stake in the theater chain to just 0.002%, according to a regulatory filing Friday. www.forbes.com/sites/dawnchmielewski/2021/05/21/chinese-billionaire-sells-off-most-of-amc-stake/?sh=4a72c9357f18
General Motors Co (NYSE: GM) is owned by 80.68% institutional shareholders, General Motors Company (US:GM) has 2086 institutional owners and shareholders that have filed 13D/G or 13F forms with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC). These institutions hold a total of 1,296,979,146 shares. Largest shareholders include BlackRock Inc., Vanguard Group Inc, State Street Corp, Capital World Investors,
Spotify Technology SA a Luxembourg-based company, which offers digital music-streaming services. China only owns 8.605% of the shares. Martin Lorentzon Is the majority share holder.
Snapchat: Evan Spiegel and Robert Cornelius Murphy are the co-founders and, respectively, CEO and CTO of Snapchat. Evan Spiegel owns 3% of Class A stocks, 25.7% of Class B stocks, and 53.4% of Class C stocks for a 53.2% voting power, whereas Robert Murphy owns 6% of Class A stocks, 25.7% of Class B stocks, and 46.6% of Class C stocks for a 46.6% voting power. fourweekmba.com/who-owns-snapchat/
21st Century Fox is owned by Disney. The top shareholders of Disney are Robert A. Iger, Christine M. McCarthy, Alan N. Braverman, Vanguard Group Inc., BlackRock Inc. (BLK), and State Street Corp. (STT). www.investopedia.com/articles/markets/102715/top-5-disney-shareholders.asp
DALLAS—In a $175 million deal, Starplex Cinemas recently changed ownership to AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. Starplex Cinemas’ prior owner was Dallas-based private equity firm Trinity Hunt Partners, and isn’t Chinese owned.REPLY: The fact this board is not a " blog" seems to put all of this into doubt. I've cited all my sources; Bill has given you his. It's up to you to check the sources and see what is up. I did find SOME confirmation to Bill's finding; however, he wasn't totally forthcoming. For example, a Rolling Stone had this to say: " Anything else of intrigue within Spotify’s recent SEC filings? For industry geeks, yes. For one thing, at the end of last year, Daniel Ek didn’t outright own his 34.5 million (18.5 percent) shares in the company he founded. Instead, he shares beneficial ownership of his stakeholding with D.G.E. Investments, which in turn is owned by D.G.E. Holding Ltd., in which Ek is the sole shareholder. Both of these latter companies (the D.G.E. ones) are based in Cyprus." www.rollingstone.com/pro/news/who-really-owns-spotify-955388/It might be that my sources are going beyond the mere filings and that China does wield as much power as claimed. Now, let me cite NPR (and I haven't watched the video), but as of last year NPR said the U.S. was in debt to China for nearly a trillion dollars. That amount is now over a trillion dollars. So, is Bill right OR is NPR? Let's look at this together: www.npr.org/2022/08/23/1119126863/chinas-slice-of-the-us-debt-pieBill will go to that other site and downplay the importance of this aspect, but back to some of the other information gleaned by various sources. According to another source, China spent $103 BILLION DOLLARS this year buying up foreign firms (though not all of it in the U.S.) But the article explains which U.S. companies are in the hands of China: investguiding-com.ngontinh24.com/article/the-biggest-american-companies-now-owned-by-the-chinese

I was accused of posting misinformation on another site. Then the mods did their civic duty by allowing a cyber terrorist to supposedly kick my ass and ban me from responding. I have the information here. I can't imagine why that POS is defending China (sarcasm.) But, you have the information I have. Nobody wants to discuss the issue. You have two sides and some links. Make up your own mind on this one. I'm off the thread unless someone some day posts and directs comments my way.
