We have been having trouble with the Quote feature. ProfessorX tried to fix it and he couldn't. He had me to log in and try to fix the problem. I couldn't do it. But, here is what happens:
Intermittently, you might use the quote feature and not get a box to post your reply in. Still, if you hit enter a couple of times and type your answer, it will quote part of a thread and say expand. If you post and then hit expand, you can see your reply. The problem is that some people are Luddites like me and not tap on that word expand in the center bottom of who you quote. Neither of us could fix the problem.
If you experience that and want people to read your reply, you can go back and start over. You can copy and paste the post you want to reply to and type (Poster's board name) and then space a couple of times and type REPLY before your answer. In my case I did not quote ProfessorX. Rather I just started my reply by stating I was replying to (whatever post # it was.) Since the problem is intermittent, there isn't much we can do to fix it. Between the two of us we are still half Luddite combined. Sorry if it ever inconveniences you. If I'm not making myself understandable here, if you have a problem replying and this post doesn't make sense, post to this thread and I will explain it in further detail. Thanks for your understanding.

Note to new Admin: I am experiencing that quote feature where it doesn't seem to want to work properly. I tried to use it in that immigration thread and it is malfunctioning. Thanks

Thanks to John Drake for telling me the options on this issue. He says if you click on the quote feature and the post you are responding to does not appear in a separate box the allows you to type below the line then click on the preview feature before making your replies.
