Just a couple of weeks before that dreaded April 15 deadline. Since there are so many tax laws you may never heard of it seemed to be a good idea to list a few just for your entertainment.
If you stole anything this year you must declare the value of the stolen goods as income on your taxes Did you win any money on illegal gambling? The IRS wants you to declare your winnings and pay up Did you sell any illegal drugs? That's income too. If you omit that you could be pursued by the IRS
That leads up to my favorite. We thought that medical expenses were tax deductible. Not all medical expenses are tax deductible. Weight loss programs are not a tax deductible expense unless it is something your doctor prescribes. What is the point? Losing weight can reverse type 2 Diabetes; it can lower your risk of heart disease, breathing disorders, and many other medical conditions. That makes you more productive and able to work and pay more in taxes as opposed to being sedentary and costing taxpayers. It looks like the doctors are in bed with the IRS to make sure every buck passes thru several hands and gets taxed without regard to your personal health.
