Way back in the 1980s I began researching how the best way to effect change was. This was followed by gaining practical experience. Reading, researching, working in political campaigns (even managing a couple), working in a think tank, being a lobbyist, serving as a Justice of the Peace (what we now call a Magistrate), and serving as a Commanding Officer of a state civilian militia (for five terms) would be part of a several decade old journey. My education was in both law and theology. It gave a unique resume' from which to work from when I suggest what is in this thread.
If you found your way here, you probably want change in the system. If it worked we'd all be happy. We aren't. So, how is the best way to effect change? If you don't care what you get and will settle for anyone that says they oppose what you do, then latch onto some rich billionaire that wants to conquer the world. That is facetious, but I'm being honest and cynical. The primary problem with the really rich is that they have the money to run and impress people with advertising, but they don't know squat about the law, civics, how the government really operates, or the fundamental principles upon which the country rests. Jumping onto political bandwagons just because someone says something you agree with is not a good policy.
Due to bad strategies many up in jail, prison, and / or have their records permanently dinged. With that in mind this forum, American Strategy, became a part of this board. This section of the forum is for people that exercise their IQ and prefer to be the most effective with the least amount of risk AND having established the best possible defense in case they lose. The reason you should consider this thread is because is designed to increase your effectiveness and protect yourself. You do this stuff because it is the right thing to do. It is what is expected, though never codified into any statutory law. This is probably the only time you've seen the blueprint laid out. It is called the Exhaustion of Remedies.

Quite simply the Exhaustion of Remedies is the step by step path you should follow to effect political and social change. You should do each step in order and not skip them in your own personal endeavors in trying to change the system to reflect your values. You exhaust all of your nonviolent political and legal avenues before resorting to extraordinary actions. Between the ballot box and the bullet box are a wide plethora of options at your disposal. You may come to a time when a difficult decision has to be made, but you should follow this path and decide for yourself where your lines in the sand are. I'd love to know what your feedback is.
1) You should network with people that think like you, have the same values, are of a similar background (religious, racial, political, cultural, etc.) The more commonalities, the greater your chance of success
2) PETITION your congresscritters (House and Senate on the state and federal levels along with governors, the president, and any other elected official you can think of.) When I say petition it means sign petitions, make phone calls, send e mails, send letters via U.S. Snail Mail, attend Town Hall meetings held by legislators. Write letters to the editors of newspapers, call in to radio talk shows to voice your opinion. POST on Resisters
3) LEARN about the subject (s) that interest you. It's not good enough to "feel" one way or another if you cannot legitimately defend them in the court of public opinion. You have to know YOUR talking points and the talking points of those that oppose you. The objective is to overcome their arguments by knowing the subject from their perspective better than they do. You never know when a microphone may be pushed in front of your face asking how you feel about an issue and then the interviewer pose really difficult questions to you
4) BE A FORCE MULTIPLIER - A U.S. Congressman told me years ago that if he got an average of one letter a day on any issue that the prevailing sentiment was probably the way that the people in his district felt based upon a letter a day. That was years ago and more people are involved, but no so many that hundreds of constituents are lobbying Congress every day and most ignore the state level elected officials. Now we have not only U.S. Snail Mail and phones, but e mail as well. So back then I rented a P.O. Box (still have it.) I would write to elected officials with my first and last name, putting my home address on that letter. I'd write another letter using my middle and last name with the P.O. Box address on it. Now I look like two constituents lobbying my congresscritter. Then I'd do the same thing with my wife's name and get her to sign the letters. Now, on paper, I'm FOUR constituents. Snail Mail carries a bit more weight with politicians. You felt strongly enough to write the letter, put it in an envelope and spend money on a stamp. Back that up with e mails and your presence at Town Hall meetings and it says a LOT
5) BECOME PART OF A THINK TANK - This board is a think tank discussion board. Here we delve deeper than moaning and crying and taking a popularity vote every day based upon what the MSM, Facebook memes, and Twitter posts say. We examine all the pros and cons. Other think tanks may meet, face to face, every so often and if one don't exist, you can start one
6) LEARN LEGAL RESEARCH - If you want to effect change you have to become your own best research liaison and advocate. Don't expect others to think for you. You have to learn civics, government, and how they work. Then you need legal research skills. We can discuss it more on this thread if necessary
7) SUPPORT EFFORTS TO TRY YOUR CASE IN COURT - If you aren't getting anywhere in your legislative efforts, the courts are your next course of action. You can fight actions in the courts before having to consider more drastic measures
8) PASSIVE RESISTANCE - Once you have exhausted (not ignored or worked around) the first six stages of this protocol, you may have to resort to passive resistance. For example, if the government tells you to get rid of your gun or turn it in; if they come for them by outlawing features that have nothing to do with protecting people you have minimal options. One is to ignore unconstitutional law. That is your Right; that is your duty. BUT BE FOREWARNED: THE COURTS OF AMERICA DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOUR UNALIENABLE RIGHTS. PASSIVE RESISTANCE CAN HAVE A VERY NEGATIVE OUTCOME. If you fail to register your weapons for instance should they demand it; if you have features that the government doesn't like; if you don't comply with the law, the government may pursue you. That becomes a personal decision as to whether you want to risk it or not. Is what you are refusing to obey the law over worth the possible consequence? My personal view is that if you skip the first six steps to get to this point, you are probably not going to consider the consequences until you're in court and have no defense for ignoring the Exhaustion of Remedies. When in this stage, you must be seriously be considering extraordinary actions and know whether or not you are fully prepared.
9) CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE - Most people I've met that get charged up politically try to forego the initial steps of the Exhaustion of Remedies. When they do, the end up like those who went to the January 6 Trump rally. You cannot help America if you are in jail or Hell. You may, at any point during your journey, get stuck with having to put yourself at risk or forfeit a Right. That is why, from the onset, you should be well committed to a concrete set of ideas. On this board we have linked to The Charter and Proclamation of the Rights of Man for those who want to network with people of like mind that support that agenda. It is your personal decision as to whether you should comply with an unconstitutional law OR RESIST. But I cannot stress this enough: If you challenge any regulatory agency ESPECIALLY federal agencies and pseudo - regulatory agencies like the IRS, BATFE, EPA, etc., etc. be forewarned, they WILL come after you and they will come with a vengeance. If you employ passive resistance, do so silently and pray. If you call out the regulatory agencies, it is a Declaration of War in their mind.
There is a lot to discuss on this topic.

The above appears to be a condensed and modified version of the Exhaustion of Remedies platform from the 1980s that was successfully used for a quarter of a century - give or take a few years. Sometimes the phases may overlap. If the government is trying to take your rights immediately an individual may have to decide to fight back or go along to get along. It should be stressed that you always leave the door open to a peaceful resolution even after a individual or group is involved in passive resistance, civil disobedience or even outright rebellion. It must always appear that you are taking the higher moral ground.
The way that Americans - and I mean traditional Americans that support the ideals behind freedom, independence, liberty and constitutional government are going now they cannot win. We can't compromise and we have to put counter proposals on the table.
